Stephen Colbert's recent satirical bit announcing his plan to run for President in both the Democratic and Republican primaries has sparked a surge in online interest for Colbert, up 2,600%. Apparently, some folks didn't hear the part about this being a joke. A recent Washington Post blog reports Colbert is actually polling ahead of Dennis Kucinich and Bill Richardson on the Democratic side.

The World Series (#18), which begins tonight at Fenway Park in Boston, re-enters this week's list and causes a spike in search interest for the Boston Red Sox. The Sox score big hits with web users, jumping 71% in search interest over the past week. However, the player hitting it out of the park with web users is Colorado Rockies outfielder Matt Holiday, up 300%. No other baseball player comes close to seeing the online search popularity Holiday receives this week.
